This is a drama based on the life of Murayama Satoshi (played by Tatsuya), a professional Go player born in 1969. Murayama suffered from Kidney disease from the age of 5, a cure for which was unknown during his lifetime (he died aged 29 in 1998), however he kept fighting til the very end.
